Exhibitions unlimited at museums in Hannover: At the Museum August Kestner, the art of Ancient Egypt and other ancient civilisations stands alongside applied art and design, a coin collection and an enormous library. Herrenhausen Palace Museum opened in 2013 as a branch of the Museum of History. It presents changing exhibitions in the restored summer residence of the Guelph dynasty. Hannover also boasts other galleries of contemporary art that are well known far beyond the boundaries of the region, among them the Kunstverein.
