The English word “resist” appears high on the agenda at Leibniz University. The Resist research group is trying to understand why certain people are particularly susceptible to certain infections. The Hannover Institute for Experimental Infection Research TWINCORE is currently developing a quick test which detects the RS virus after birth. The word “resist” is also relevant for the startup company Syntellix AG which is based in Hannover. The company is developing implants which can be used after bone fractures and then disintegrate in the body. This prevents infections from taking hold.
