Production engineering

In Germany and abroad, Hannover is with 12,100 employees, who are working in 420 businesses, a leading location for the production engineering sector. In addition to strong research and a wide range of educational opportunities, Hannover also offers attractive positions for professionals in production engineering companies. 

The production engineering sector employs around 12,800 people in 430 businesses in the Hannover region, which amounts to approximately 2.5% of the total jobs in the region. 

Research

There are numerous university-affiliated and independent research facilities specialising in production engineering in the Hannover region. These include the Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH), the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH), the mechanical engineering faculty at Leibniz University of Hannover, and the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technology departments at the Hannover University for Applied Sciences and Arts.

Robotics

The robotics sector is also well established in the Hannover region. The roboterfabrik and the Robotics Incubator at the Leibniz University of Hannover, the Robokind Stiftung and the Robotation Academy as a training and event centre for robotics and automation all contribute the development of innovative technologies for use in manufacturing.
