In 2014, things were “very British” in the state capital of Lower Saxony, when Hannover was the central venue of the state exhibition entitled “When the Royals came from Hanover”.
Hanover was glad to welcome a royal celebrity to its state exhibition in 2014: Prince Andrew, 5th in line of the British succession, attended the summer festival on the 4th of June in honor of the Queen’s anniversary.
It took place on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the personal union between Hanover and Great Britain in the Castle of Herrenhausen. Furthermore Prince Michael of Kent visited Marienburg Castle when the exhibiton "The Path to the Crown" was opened on the 30th of April.
Thus visitors could relive the era in which the Royals came from Hanover at the major exhibitions, as well as numerous cultural events and concerts, guided tours and a fireworks display, a specially composed opera, British teatime, a fashion show, equestrian sports events and a British garden party.
