Information abut the surrounding area: The Bockmerholz is a 2 km ² large, closed deciduous forest 500 meters southeast of here. About half of it is a conservation area. The forest is located south of the Hanover district Wülferode and is considered a relic of extensive deciduous forests that existed here until the Early Middle Ages as part of the northern forest.
