International Geocaching Mysteries: The Netherlands

A cache in the ‘International Geocaching Mysteries’ series, presenting places in Hannover that offer ‘backdoor globetrotting’!

What’s the link between this place and the Netherlands? It may well not be apparent at first glance, but this building houses not only the Danish but also the Dutch Honorary Consulate. Today, the consulates have more of a representative role than anything else. These institutions promote the interests of their country and assist its citizens staying either permanently or temporarily in Lower Saxony. This cache is not at all hard to spot and the ‘Netherlands connection’ will be immediately obvious. However, accessing the logbook will require a degree of manual dexterity.

Internationale Geo-geheimen: Nederland

Een cache uit de serie Internationale Geo-geheimen, die plaatsen in Hannover presenteert die een kleine wereldreis mogelijk maken!
Wat heeft deze plek met Nederland te maken? Op het eerste gezicht is het niet meteen duidelijk, maar hier in het gebouw is behalve het Deense ook het Nederlandse honorair consulaat gevestigd. De consulaten hebben tegenwoordig vooral een representatieve functie.
Deze afvaardigingen zetten zich in het buitenland in voor de belangen van Nederland en ondersteunen Nederlanders die permanent of hoofdzakelijk in Neder-Saksen verblijven. De cache is beslist gemakkelijk te vinden en kan direct met Nederland in verband worden gebracht. Om bij het logboek te komen, is wel wat fijngevoeligheid vereist.
