The World Communion of Reformed Churches has its headquarters in Hanover.
The church was built in neo-Gothic style in 1898 according to plans by Hubert Stier. The church bells were donated by Queen Victoria. During the Second World War the church was almost completely destroyed and rebuilt in 1956. During the reconstruction, only the exterior was reconstructed by the architect Dieter Oesterlen, the interior was completely redesigned. As a warning, the church tower has not worn a helmet to this day.
