What is the Maschsee Festival?
The Maschseefest is the largest folk festival in Lower Saxony in the middle of the city on the Maschsee. Holiday feelings in the city, maritime flair in the middle of the city! The Maschsee Lake Festival gives the holiday an international stage. For 19 days, visitors have the opportunity to take a culinary and artistic circumnavigation.
Typical gastronomy concepts, musical highlights in the open air, sporting events on the Maschsee as well as a variety of attractions for children and families create holiday feelings.
When and how long does the Maschsee Festival take place?
The next Maschsee Lake Festival will take place from July 27 to August 14, 2022. The Maschsee Lake Festival lasts a total of 19 days.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for July 27, 2022 at 6 p.m.
How long is the Maschseefest open?
The minimum opening times of the stand areas are:
Monday to Thursday: 2 p.m. to 1 a.m
Friday to Saturday: 2 p.m. to 2 a.m
Sunday: 11 a.m. to 1 a.m
Different closing times apply to the stands on the Geibel.
Where does the Maschsee Festival take place?
The Maschseefest takes place around the Maschsee. For the getting there you have many options.
Where can I park? Where can I park my bike?
We advise against driving directly to the Maschsee by car due to the critical parking situation. It is best to park on the spacious Schützenplatz (Bruchmeisterallee 1A, 30169 Hannover) near the Maschsee. Use of the parking lot costs €4 per day.
Does the Maschseefest cost admission?
Admission to the Maschsee Lake Festival is free, as is entry to the stands.

Can I reserve a table in advance?
If you would like to plan your visit to the festival in advance, you can reserve your personal spot right by the water. Please contact the exhibitor directly. You can find the contact list here .

Is the Maschsee Lake Festival also suitable for children?
There is an extra children's area at the Maschsee Lake Festival. At the HDI-Arena, between Seufzerallee and Karl-Thiede-Weg, little festivalgoers will find great hands-on offers. The play and adventure world is open Fridays to Sundays and Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. There are also many other play options at numerous stands.
Safety note: Since this is a children's program, the responsibility for supervising minors on the event site lies with the legal guardians.
Is this Maschsee fixed from 18 years?
According to the Youth Protection Act, children and young people under the age of 16 may stay in restaurants until 10 p.m. if they are accompanied by a person who has custody or a person responsible for education. Adolescents from the age of 16 may stay in restaurants without the accompaniment of a person with custody or a person responsible for education until midnight.
The purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages are only permitted from the age of 18.
