Deutsche Messe AG published the following statement on January 19, 2022:

The next HANNOVER MESSE will be held from 30 May to 2 June. Deutsche Messe AG is thus responding to the current pandemic situation and creating planning security for exhibitors and visitors

HANNOVER MESSE 2022 will be held from 30 May to 2 June, rather than in April as previously planned. The date shift to early June 2022 was made in close consultation with the HANNOVER MESSE Exhibitor Advisory Board and partner associations VDMA (German Engineering Federation) and ZVEI (German Electrical and Digital Manufacturers' Association).

"Due to the continuing high incidences in Germany and many neighboring countries, we decided together with our exhibitors to move HANNOVER MESSE to early summer this year. Last year we were able to establish that the summer months are best suited for major events during the pandemic. As we cannot currently assume that the coronalage will have eased sufficiently by April, this early postponement gives our customers the greatest possible planning security to present their innovations at the world's most important industrial trade fair," said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG.

Next trade fair: 31.03. - 04.04.2025

HANNOVER MESSE - world's first major industrial trade show

HANNOVER MESSE will be the world's first major industrial trade show in June, and with its focus on digitalization and sustainability will provide clear impetus for innovative, efficient production and climate protection. Due to the high capacity utilization of the Hannover exhibition center with numerous events in early summer, the world's leading industrial trade fair has to be shortened to four days this year. In 2023, HANNOVER MESSE will once again be held over five days in April as usual.

"It is right to postpone HANNOVER MESSE to a later date. This will allow the vaccination rate to be further increased, which is in the interests of exhibitors and visitors to the show. In addition, a later event date means a greater likelihood of more national and international visitors - which benefits everyone involved. The mechanical and plant engineering sector will present itself in Hannover as a technological enabler of climate protection and digitalization, as well as clearly demonstrating its role as a supplier and user of cutting-edge technology for networked and intelligent production," commented VDMA Executive Director Thilo Brodtmann.

"As the world's most important industrial trade fair, HANNOVER MESSE is the showcase to the world for our companies. The postponement is therefore the right thing to do under the circumstances. We are convinced that we will be able to reach a larger audience in the summer for the topics surrounding Industry 4.0 and its contributions to sustainability. With our innovations around digitalization, electrification or energy efficiency and automation, the electrical and digital industry is shaping the industrial transformation to a climate-neutral circular economy. We want to demonstrate to as wide an audience as possible what this path can look like. After all, we can only master this challenge by working together and pulling together. HANNOVER MESSE provides the perfect setting for this," says Wolfgang Weber, Chairman of the ZVEI Board of Management.
